President of the Republic got a present of an environment-friendly quick composter
14.11.2000

President Lennart Meri received Pekka Oinonen, the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Estonia, as well as the representatives of Eco-Invest Oü, the Estonian partners of the Finnish Biolan Oy company, at his Viimsi home today. The guests had a gift for the President – the Biolan Composter 220, known in Finland also as the ''Nokia Number Two''.

Assorting of waste and home composting of the organic waste has been popular in Finland and elsewhere in Europe for decades. Ten years ago, the Finnish family enterprise Biolan Oy presented the first quick composter to the then President Mauno Koivisto, and owing to this fact, the environment-friendly compost processing spread fast. The Biolan Composter 2000 that was presented to the Estonian President, is a new opportunity in environment-sustaining technology and products.
