School of Sciences on the first day of school

President of the Republic visited Püünsi School and the Tallinn Secondary School of Sciences.
President Lennart Meri visited the inaugural meeting of the Püünsi Main School this morning; in the afternoon the President gave a welcoming address to the inaugural meeting of first-grade children and students starting their last year at school in the Tallinn Secondary School of Sciences.

President Lennart Meri sent his photo and greeting to the teachers and pupils of three schools, who are going to learn and work in new schoolhouses this year. The President wrote a letter to the schools at Surju, Pärnu County; Mõniste, Võru County, and the Rocca al Mare school in Tallinn. In his letter the President asked the children to cherish their school as they cherish their homes, so that it would be just as beautiful, clean and festive as a home. The President also recalled that this schoolyear begins on the Estonian Book Year, and wished the schoolchildren loyalty to their schools and to books.
