President of the Republic visited the Captains' Club

President Lennart Meri visited the Captains' Club today. The President brought a gift to the Estonian captains – a picture presented to him by Admiral Sir Michael Boyce, Commander of the Navy of the United kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; the picture depicts the photographs of the ships of the Republic of Estonia that served on the Allies' side in during World War II and transported weapons to the British. There are photographs of the ships ''Linda'', ''Begonia'', ''Vilk'', ''Keila'', ''Viiu'', ''Jaak'', ''Indra'', ''Kodumaa'', ''Nora'', ''Juta'', ''Mekur'', ''Ella'' ja ''Marvi'' on the picture.

It is the President's wish that the picture should be exhibited in the Maritime Museum.
