President of the Republic visited the Union Bank

President Lennart Meri visited the new main building of the Union Bank at noon today and discussed the situation and prospects of the Estonian economy in the light of the current developments in the world and in Europe.

The President met Aare Urmi, Chairman of the Council of the Union Bank, and Ain Hanschmidt, Chairman of the Board of the Union Bank, as well as Lembit Kitter, manager of the retail banking department; the bank leaders showed him the new main building, and also the most powerful network server in the Baltic States. The Union Bank offered lunch to President Meri.

The President also enjoyed the view of Tallinn from the roof of the Union Bank.
