The President of the Republic received the Minister of Defence of Poland

President Lennart Meri received Bronislaw Komorowski, the Minister of Defence of Poland, in Kadriorg today. President Meri underlined the historical ties between Estonia and Poland, and Komorowski said that also some of his ancestors had once studied at Tartu University. On the meeting, the prospects of NATO enlargement and the defence co-operation between Estonia and Poland were discussed; the Polish Minster of Defence emphasised Poland's firm support to Estonia's and the other Baltic States' accession to the Alliance. The Minister of Defence Komorowski recognised Estonia's success, saying that Estonia has fulfilled all her promises as a reliable partner.
