On Mothers' Day, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Helle Meri hosted an afternoon coffee for nearly thirty mothers of large Estonian families from all Estonian counties. Also the Mother of the Year 2001, schoolteacher Mrs. Katrin Reimus from Kunda, was invited. Everyday life of big families and all the chores of their mothers were discussed. It was stated that even if a mother of a big family has many cares and considerations, those would be outweighed by the joy the children and their success will bring. The children of the mothers present were counted, 183 all in all. A ''family photograph'' with the President of the Republic and Mrs. Helle Meri will be a reminder of the Mothers' Day afternoon in Kadriorg.
