The President of the Republic met members of the Estonian Union of Injured Warriors

President Lennart Meri today visited the Estonian Union of Injured Warriors, and met the board and also members of this organisation. On the meeting, the steps taken so far to support injured warriors were discussed, as well as the possibilities for assistance in the future. The President of the Republic spoke of the aims and the programme of the forthcoming tour ''Estonia Remembers''. The members of the board of the union spoke of the activities of their organisation.

The Estonian Union of Injured Warriors was founded in 1917. At the end of December 2000, repair works were completed in the house (address Tatari 3), which the Republic of Estonia had donated to the Union in 1920.
