The President of the Republic offered dinner to the U.S. Senator John McCain

Tonight President Lennart Meri offered dinner at the presidential palace of Kadriorg to the U.S. Senator John McCain, who had delivered a lecture From Tragedy to Destiny: Estonias Place in the New Atlantic Order in memory of Robert Frasure, the former U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, earlier today in Tallinn.
Also Ambassadors Melissa Wells and Sven Jürgenson had been invited to dinner. At dinner, the discussion mostly focused on Estonias accession to NATO and relations to Russia. Also the situation in the Middle East and Central Asia was discussed. President Meri emphasised the need to give more assistance to the countries of Central Asia.
