The President of the Republic pays a working visit to Switzerland

On Wednesday, January 24, President Lennart Meri will leave for a working visit to Switzerland, where he will participate on a Swiss-Estonian business seminar in Zurich and also on the annual World Economic Forum at Davos, an event uniting the world's leading politicians and businessmen.

On Thursday, January 25, the President of the Republic will deliver a lecture ''Enlargement of the European Union and Economic Growth in the Baltic Sea Area: the Example of Estonia'', on the Swiss-Estonian business seminar in Zurich.

On January 26 at Davos, the President of the Republic will participate in the roundtable discussing the development of the Baltic Sea area and its integration with the European Union; the roundtable will also be attended by the President of Latvia, the President of Lithuania and the Prime Minister of Denmark. The discussion will be followed by a joint press conference of the Baltic Presidents.

At Davos, the President of the Republic will also have several bilateral meetings, including meetings with the Swiss President Moritz Leuenberger and the Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.

President Meri will be back in Tallinn on Sunday evening.
