59 applications for the Young Scientist Award and the Pytheas Scholarship

On October 31 this year, President of the Republic's Cultural Foundation announced for the first time the possibility to apply for the Young Scientist Award and the Pytheas Scholarship. For the final term of submitting applications, 59 applications have been received.

The Young Scientist Award in the amount of 40,000 Estonian kroons is financed by the businessman Toomas Luman, and 54 scientists doing their research work at the universities or research institutes of Estonia, Western Europe, or North America, have submitted their applications. Applications came from art, science, and technology researchers.

There are five applications for the Pytheas Scholarship, which is 10,000 kroons and intended to support the translation of a text on Greek culture, society, or other areas of activity into the Estonian language.

The Board of the Cultural Foundation will announce its decisions before the turn of the year.
