Today, the presentation of the Estonian translation of ''The Black Book of Communism'' composed by Stephane Courtois took place; this is the 21st translation of this book first published in 1998.

President Lennart Meri, who at the presentation, emphasised that extremism is one of the greatest dangers to mankind and the entire democracy. The President said: ''There is no principal difference between rightist and leftist extremism, they are the two sides of the same coin, two sides that are alike.''

The Estonian translation of ''The Black Book of Communism'' was published by the publishing house ''Varrak'', and President Meri wrote a foreword to the translation.
