President Lennart Meri sent a letter to the Austrian President Thomas Klestil on Saturday, November 11, and expressed his condolences in connection with the tragic train accident in the tunnel of Kitzsteinhorn.

On November 13, President of the Republic sent a letter to Johannes Rau, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, to commemorate the tragic loss of 42 citizens of Germany in the Kitzsteinhorn tunnel accident.
