President Lennart Meri yesterday hosted a dinner at his Viimsi home to Percy Barnevik, a Swedish grand-scale businessman and chairman of Investor AB, a financial holding company belonging to the Swedish Wallenberg family.
In the course of the dinner, President of the Republic and Percy Barnevik, who is also Chairman of the European Roundtable of Industrialists and the EU Enlargement working group, discussed the situation in EU enlargement and the steps to be taken so that the enlargement process would not lose its momentum. Barnevik expressed the firm connection of European industrialists that the European Union's enlargement is good for the economy of both the present and the future members, and therefore the first round of the enlargement should take place as soon as possible.
