President of the Republic met the Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

President of the Republic met Harald Ringstorff, the Prime Minister of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern of Germany, and his accompanying delegation, in Kadriorg today.

On the meeting, the experiences of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in developing tourism were discussed; also Estonia’s possibilities to make use of this experience were deliberated. The matters of power supply were also discussed, and a rapport of opinions on this subject was noted. Prime Minister Ringstorff pointed out the plan to build an energy circle surrounding the Baltic Sea.

The President thanked the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for the initiative to organise the ''Sunshine Tour'' cycling race through three Baltic countries on August 4-12; one of the purposes of the tour is to gather money for supporting children’s institutions and cancer patients.

Prime Minister Ringstorff was also interested in the Estonian President's forthcoming state visit to Germany, which is going to take place this November.

Also HE Enver Schrömbgens, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Estonia, accompanied the German delegation to Kadriorg.
