Yesterday evening, President of the Republic received the travellers of the European Literary Express. On the European Literary Express there are writers from 43 countries, including three writers from Estonia. Also representatives of the Estonian Writers Union, including Mati Sirkel, the Chairman of the Union, had been asked to the reception on the yard of the Kadriorg Palace. Also the diplomats representing European countries in Estonia had been invited.

President of the Republic held a brief speech to the guests, recalling his own days as a writer and sensing his dual role as a writer and a Head of State.

The Literary Express crosses many European countries within one and a half months, but in Estonia a meeting with the President, who is also a writer, had been arranged.

As a souvenir, also a joint photograph was taken of the President of the Republic and the European writers.
