President of the Republic will go on a working visit to Vilnius

President Lennart Meri will make a one-day working visit to Vilnius on Thursday, March 30, to meet the Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga and the Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus. The three Presidents will also give presentations on the forum of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian businessmen.

On the traditional meeting, the Presidents will speak of the developments of the three countries in their accession to the European Union and NATO, and other common interests of the three countries. President Meri has proposed the energetic circle of the Baltic Sea countries as one of the themes of discussion.

A delegation of Estonian businessmen, as well as the representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Estonian Investment and Trade Development Foundation will participate on the economic seminar organised on Lithuanian initiative.

The meeting will be followed by a cultural programme, the three Presidents will visit the exhibition ''Christianity in Lithuanian Art'' in the Vilnius Applied Art Museum.

On Thursday, President Meri will also meet the Estonians living in Lithuania and open the exhibition of the works of Eduard Wiiralt in the Mazhvydas Library.

President Meri will be back in Tallinn on Thursday evening.
