Presentation of the collection ''Estonia Thanks 1919-2000'" in the National Library

The collection ''Estonia Thanks 1919-2000'' has been composed in co-operation by the State Chancellery, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the President. The book contains the names of all people who have been awarded the decorations of the Republic of Estonia. Since 1919, more than 13,000 Orders of the Cross of Liberty, the Estonian Red Cross, the Cross of the Eagle, the National Coat of Arms, the White Star, and the Cross of St Mary's Land have been awarded.

The book ''Estonia thanks 1919-2000'', which contains the lists of the decorated people as well as registers and tables, was drawn up by the Department of Symbols of the State Chancellery, the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Office of the President. The final version was drawn up by Fred Puss. The foreword, as well as the concluding remarks have been written by President Lennart Meri.

The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 22, at 16.00 in the Hall of Rarities of the National Library, where also the exhibition ''Estonian Decorations'' has been opened prior to the Independence Day.
