President of the Republic met the President of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

President Lennart Meri meeting with Boris Trajkovski, the President of MacedoniaPresident Lennart Meri met Boris Trajkovski, President of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, in Kadriorg today.

President of the Republic and Mrs. Helle Meri offered Boris Trajkovski, President of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and his spouse Mrs. Vilma Trajkovska a lunch in Kadriorg.

On the meeting of the Presidents, the relations between the two countries, as well as the possibilities to develop mutual co-operation were discussed. The Presidents also discussed the situation in Kosovo and on the Balkans generally. President Trajkovski spoke of his vision of further developments in the South-East Europe, expressing his opinion that the Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic is the main factor obstructing the development of democracy.

President Meri spoke of Estonia's experience in conducting the reforms and expressed Estonia's readiness to help Macedonia in further development. Also the possibility to develop economic relations in the future was considered.
