President Lennart Meri signed the resolution to proclaim the ''Geographical Sign Protection Act'', the ''Aliens Act Amendment Act'', the ''Act Amending Section 32 of Population and Residence Census Act'', the ''Act Amending Sections 9 and 19 of the Income Tax Act'', and the ''Income Tax Act'', passed in the Riigikogu on December 15, 1999, in Kadriorg today.

The President also proclaimed the ''Act Amending the Act 'State Budget 1999'', the ''Act 'State Budget 2000'', the ''Use of Environment Usage Proceeds Act Amendment Act'', the ''Act Amending the University Act, the Act Amending the University Act and the Legal Acts Related Thereto, the Tartu University Act, the Applied Higher Education Institutions Act and the Republic of Estonia Education Act'', passed in the Riigikogu on December 15, and the ''Act Amending Section 28 of the Value Added Tax Act'', passed in the Riigikogu on December 16.
