President Lennart Meri today sent a letter to Leonid Kuchma, who had been re-elected the President of Ukraine. As President Meri said, the re-election of President Kuchma confirms that his work in shaping and securing the democratic development of Ukraine has been fruitful and convincing.

President Meri hoped that meetings between the Presidents of Estonia and Ukraine would continue, and invited President Kuchma to visit Estonia.
