President Lennart Meri will leave for a working visit in the United States of America on Tuesday, October 12, 1999. On October 13, the President will deliver a speech at the annual breakfast of the Joint Baltic American National Committee on the Capitol Hill.

In the evening of October 13, President Meri will participate in the ceremony of the proclamation of the ''Voice of America'' radio station as an independent federal institution.

The President is going to meet several Senators and other high state officials of the United States of America.

President Meri will be back in Estonia on Saturday, October 16.
