President Lennart Meri today visits the Viru County with Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, the former Foreign Minister of Denmark. The first stop this morning was made at Sinimäe. Ülo Jõgisoo, Mayor of the Vaivara Rural Municipality, and the Eastern Viru County Governor Rein Aidma showed the President the possible future building sites for the Young Family Home project in the Vaivara rural municipality. President Meri and Uffe Ellemann-Jensen also visited the memorial of the Danes fallen at Vaivara in the Sinimägede battles.

The visit continued in Narva, where President Meri and Uffe Ellemann-Jensen, who belongs to the Board of the Baltic ES Ltd, looked around in the plant. Vladimir Nazarenko, Director-General of the Baltic ES, gave an outline of the plant, of whose products 90% goes for export.

President Meri and his Danish guests also visited the Narva border station and the bridge over the Narva river.

On the return trip, the President will briefly visit the Sagadi estate and the Loksa Shipyard Ltd.
