Tonight, the President of the Republic met with Mart Laar's government in Paslepa. The meeting of the President and the government took place at the time when 100 days had passed from the day the new government assumed its duties. The President of the Republic acknowledged the achievements of the new government and said that it had made an energetic start.

The fund for young families as a possibility for achievement of the already declared objectives of integration and youth politics was discussed at the meeting. President Lennart Meri had raised the problems young families encounter in finding a home already in the assembly of creative associations held in April 1998. These problems of young families coincide with the objectives fixed in the coalition agreement. The possible political steps that could be taken in the actual launch of the fund for young families were discussed at the meeting of the government and the President of the Republic. It was resolved to form a joint work team for development of the regional economic and legal basis of the fund.
