President Lennart Meri received Wolfgang Thierse, the President of the German Bundestag, and the delegation accompanying him, this afternoon in Kadriorg.

On the meeting with the Estonian President Wolfgang Thierse promised to forward President Meri’s invitation to visit Estonia to Gerhard Schröder, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. President Meri and Speaker Thierse discussed the relations between the two countries. As President Meri said, Germany`s current Baltic Sea policy is still in sufficiently outlined, as Germany`s has so far not taken full advantage of all the opportunities open to her in the Baltic Sea Region after Germany`s reunion.
