President Lennart Meri yesterday received the Minister of Culture Signe Kivi, Academician Peeter Tulviste, and Hando Runnel - the members of the General Committee of the Year of the Estonian Book, which is to be celebrated in the year 2000, in last evening in Kadriorg.

On the meeting, the preparations of the jubilee year of the Estonian book were discussed. As the President said, he is glad to be the patron of the Year of the Estonian Book.
