President Lennart Meri, who is on a state visit in the Republic of Greece, yesterday on May 26, 1999, sent a letter of condolences to Leonid Kuchma, the President of Ukraine.

President Lennart Meri asked President Kuchma to convey his sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the miners killed in the explosion.

The letter of condolences of the President of the Republic was forwarded through the Embassy of the Republic of Ukraine in Greece.
