President Lennart Meri received Roberto Martini, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Estonia, who came to pay his farewell visit, in Kadriorg today. President Meri conferred the I Class Order of the Cross of St. Mary’s Land to the Ambassador.

According to President Meri, the relations between Estonia and Italy have never been so wide and close as they are now, and the Estonian Head of State thanked the Italian Ambassador for his contribution.

On the meeting the bilateral relations between Estonia and Italy and also the situation in Kosovo were discussed.
