Today, the co-operation agreement for the establishment of the Home Decoration Information Centre was signed by Arvi Altmäe, Head of the Home Decoration Council, Ants Noot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Sulev Vare, Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, Peep Ratas, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, and Theo Aasa, Governor of the Järva County, and Malle Annilo, Elder of the Türi commune, and Toomas Shadeiko, Headmaster of the Türi Agricultural College.

The Information Centre, whose aim it shall be to distribute information in the field of home decoration and arrange the respective training, shall be established to the Türi Agricultural College. On the Mothers’ Day in 1997, President of the Republic proclaimed the first Home Decoration Year, and for this also the Home Decoration Council was convened.
