This morning, on March 8, the leaders of the triple alliance which participated in the elections of the ninth Riigikogu – Siim Kallas, Mart Laar and Andres Tarand – paid a visit to President Lennart Meri and handed over the Statement of the Estonian Reform Party, the Pro Patria Union, and the Moderates.

The statement underlined that the alliance would proceed from the statement addressed to the Estonian voters on December 31, 1998, where they consider themselves as a united political force, acting on the basis of a common programme. Now, the alliance of three parties has won the support of the majority of the voters of the Republic of Estonia and wishes to implement this programme with the support of the Estonian electors until the next regular elections of the Riigikogu.
