On Tuesday, March 16, President of the Republic concluded his visit to the US. During the visit, he participated in the annual conference of the Trilateral Commission and had meetings with several high officials of the US Government, including State Secretary Madeleine Albright. The main subject of the bilateral meetings was the question of NATO enlargement and preparations for the Washington summit.

On the last day of the visit, President of the Republic met the representatives of US media, including the publishing board of the "Washington Times".

President of the Republic will be back in Tallinn in the morning of Wednesday, March 17, 1999.
