President Lennart Meri had a meeting with Thomas E. Leavey, the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, a special organisation of the United Nations, in the presidential palace of Kadriorg today.

The Director General of the Universal Postal Union complimented President Meri on Estonia's progress and handed over a souvenir to the Head of State – an album of stamps issued on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations.

On the meeting, Thomas E. Leavey was accompanied by Tarmo Jaan Tõeleid, the Director General of Estonian Post.
