This evening, President Lennart Meri promulgated the Code of Criminal Offences Amendment Act, the Basic Agreement between the Republic of Estonia and the European Investment Bank ''On Activities of the European Investment Bank in Estonia'' Ratification Act, the Double Taxation and Tax Evasion Prevention Agreement between the Republic of Estonia and the United States of America Ratification Act, the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Estonia and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and Local Administration of the Faro Islands Ratification Act, Expulsion and Refusal of Entry Act and the European Agreement of Forwarding Legal Aid Applications Ratification Act passed in the Riigikogu on October 21, 1998.

The President also promulgated today the Criminal Code Amendment Act passed in the Riigikogu on October 22, 1998, and the Riigikogu Election Act and Related Acts Amendment Act passed in the Riigikogu on October 27, 1998.

The President of the Republic refused to promulgate the Broadcasting Act Amendment Act passed in the Riigikogu on October 20, 1998.
