On Friday, November 20, the Roundtable of the Ethnic Minorities of the President of the Republic will convene in Tallinn in order to discuss the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the application of the Convention in Estonia. Estonia ratified the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities on January 6, 1997.

Frank Steketee, Advisor of the National Minorities Bureau of the Human Rights Directorate of the Council of Europe, Marju Lauristin, Member of the Advisory Committee of the Framework Convention, and representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also participate on the Meeting of the Roundtable.

The Roundtable will discuss the application and implementation of the Framework Convention in Estonia.

The Meeting of the Roundtable of Ethnic Minorities of the President of the Republic will start at 10 AM on November 20, 1998, in the Conference Hall of the Viru Hotel.
