President Lennart Meri received a letter from His Holiness Pope John Paul II, who thanked the Estonian Head of State for his good wishes upon the 20th Anniversary of his election to the Papacy.

The Head of the Catholic Church sent his own good wishes with the assurance that he will pray for the abundant blessing of Almighty God to the people of Estonia.
