President Lennart Meri received members of the Riigikogu factions and members of Riigikogu not belonging to any factions today at noon in Kadriorg and introduced to them his candidates to the positions of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Estonia and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Estonia.
The President's candidate to the post of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Estonia is Uno Lõhmus, his candidate to the post of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Estonia is Mart Sõrg. The President introduced his candidates to these high positions and requested members of Riigikogu to give their opinion within one week, after which the President will propose his candidates officially to Riigikogu for appointment.
