President Lennart Meri and Mrs. Helle Meri received fifty best graduates from both state and private universities of Estonia in Kadriorg today at 11.00.

The President welcomed the successful university graduates and recalled that his own studies actually started after the university graduation.
As the President said, it is for these young people to decide if life in Estonia will be good in the future. ''Here, in this garden, year by year, Estonia has been symbolically handed over to the following generations.''
The President also reminded the students that now, as the greatest part of their studies begins, they should remember that it is not just their own knowledge they are shaping, but our country, and the future of Estonia. ''You are the tomorrow of Estonia,'' President Meri said – ''you take us to the day after tomorrow.''
