Lennart Meri, President of the Republic of Estonia and the Supreme Commander of the National Defence today signed the order to confer the rank of Lieutenant General to Johannes Kert, the Commander of the Defence Forces, to confer the rank of Major General to Ants Laaneots, the Chief of the General Staff of the Defence Forces, and to confer the rank of Rear Admiral to Tarmo Kõuts, the Chief of the Estonian Border Guard.
