President of the Republic of Estonia showed the Duke of York around in the Tallinn Mine Harbour

President Lennart Meri and His Royal Highness Duke of York visited today the Estonian Navy Staff at the Tallinn Mine Harbour, where Naval Captain Roland Leit gave a brief outline on the history of the Estonian Navy and its co-operation with the British Royal Navy. President Lennart Meri and Prince Andrew signed the Guestbook. The Commander of the Estonian Navy presented the Duke of York with a symbolic steering wheel.
President Meri, Duke of York and the accompanying persons were also shown the BALTRON communications centre situated at the Mine Harbour. After that there was a tour of Tallinn Bay on mine drawler ''Sulev'' in order to have a look at Tallinn from the sea, and this gave a lot of pleasure to the British guest.
Today at noon President Meri and the Duke of York met in Kadriorg, where the excellent relations between Estonia and Great Britain were discussed on a tźte-į-tźte meeting. At the lunch hosted by President Lennart Meri the Duke of York drank to Estonia's success in the accession negotiations with the EU.
