President Lennart Meri and Mrs. Helle Meri are in Riga on the invitation of the Latvian President Guntis Ulmanis and Mrs. Aina Ulmane.
In Riga, on the meeting of the Estonian President Lennart Meri, the Latvian President Guntis Ulmanis, the Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and the Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski the security structures of Europe, the expansion of the EU and NATO were discussed.
In Riga, President Meri also met Vaira Vike-Freibergaga, who has been elected the President of Latvia. President Ulmanis, who is soon leaving office, offered a dinner in the castle of Rundale to the Presidents of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
