The Cultural Foundation of the President of the Republic supports school and kindergarten children from Võhma 19.12.1996President Lennart Meri and Mrs. Helle Meri delivered a cheque of 78,300 Estonian kroons to Enno Plaks, the Mayor of Võhma, in the pesidential palace of Kadriorg today. The sum allocated from the Presidents Cultural Foundation is intended to help school and kindergarten children at Võhma with free school lunches.
As President Meri said, at Christmastime it is the time to give, and the time to think of our loved ones. As President Meri said, at Christmas we should especially think of those who are living hard times today.
As the President said, the economic difficulties of Võhma are caused by the restructuring of our economy, but also by inadequate economic policy.
Also Helir-Valdor Seeder, the Governor of Viljandi County, participated in the ceremony.
